pdf_icon.GIF (413 bytes) Letter to the Editor - Glen Ellyn News - July 21st, 1993

This letter was written after my children, one of whom was currently going through the DARE program at school, spotted a man dumping yard waste illegally.  It was born out of the frustration I felt when I was trying to do as my children were instructed in the DARE program and report crimes only to not get any action as a result.  As a result of this letter two things happened - first, the man dumping the waste was arrested and charged accordingly and second, the person who treated me so rudely at the Sheriff's Dept. was fired as this was not the first complaint he's had.

This letter  was born of my irritation at another letter to the Editor who, citing a 22 year old newspaper article, lamented the decay of the Village of Glen Ellyn and the lack of those in authority to adhere to the more than two decades old statements of their predecessors indicating that some things will never change in the village.

A letter expressing my feelings about the School District 87 Teacher's Strike.  The striking teachers are already in the top 2% of the salary range for all teachers in the state and they want more.  Go figure!

This is an article published about the Teacher's Union public forum held on August 27th, 1998.  I had my opportunity to speak my thoughts and did so - and was quoted in this article.

It appears that my daughter is a chip off the old block.  This is an article about her and her letter to the Editor dealing with something that she got passionate about.

HTML Letter to Friends - Faces of Christmas essay - December 24th, 1997

In 1992 I took an English Composition class and wrote an essay titled "The Faces of Christmas."  Last year, on Christmas Eve I was remembering the Christmases of my past and recalled this essay and thought to send it, along with an update, to those I call my friends.  I share it here for you now...

HTML Letter to Papa John's Pizza - Order it if you don't want to eat - May 11th, 1999

This is the first letter of what will likely become a new segment of my web site aimed solely at the ooops and uh-oh's that go beyond the acceptable.
